What is a CMS System (Content Management System) The complete guide in 2020.

What is a CMS

What is a CMS system? It is the abbreviation of Content Management System, a delicate software developed by developers for users with little to no coding experience to create, manage, and modify content on a website through a user-friendly backend interface.

In simpler language, a content management system(CMS) is a pre-programmed software that helps you build a website without the need to program all the codes from scratch (or even know how to code at all). It lets you create web pages, store images, upload products and other basic infrastructure stuff instead of developing them from scratch.

So now that that’s cleared, let’s dive deeper to understand exactly what is a CMS system.

How does a CMS (Content Management System) work?

It’s going to be complicated to explain what is a CMS with just plain texts, We’re going to show you with examples from the most popular CMS system – WordPress.

So let’s say you want to upload an article titled “How to use a CMS?”. Traditionally, you would have to code an entire HTML script and upload it to your website’s server. Yeah, that sounds pretty complicated.

However, with the help of a CMS system, all you have to do is enter the title, type the article, and click on “Publish”. Just like the image below. Easy right?

You can easily create new categories and categorize your posts by checking the related boxes.

This works similarly with uploading your images onto WordPress and storing them on your server. Once uploaded, you can reuse that same image over and over again anywhere on your website!

Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.

  2. Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using?

I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having
a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and
Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and
style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

    1. No worries! We are glad to be able to help a fellow blogger. We’re not sure about BlogEngine and B2evolution but we have built most of our websites and blogs with WordPress. We do recommend using WordPress because it was initially designed for blogging. If unique designs is what you’re looking for we recommend the Elementor PRO plugin. You can create unique templates for your blogs easily plus since it’s the most popular CMS you can easily get support from forums or other WordPress groups!

  3. Appreciating the persistence you put into
your site and in depth information you present.

It’s awesome to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same old rehashed material.
Wonderful read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my
    Google account.
